Some build tunnels to make it possible to drive underwater. Elsewhere, there is more need for tunnels that can lead water under the sand. The latter is the case for the “Deep Tunnels Portfolio” project in Dubai.
The project involves the construction of two sets of deep tunnels with associated pumping stations and a waste water and drainage collection system. This is written by the online media Tunnels and Tunnelling.
Looking for a consultant for project management
Initially, the developer, the Emirate of Dubai, is calling for expressions of interest in connection with project management consultancy.
Expressions of interest must be received in Dubai by 11 August at the latest. The next step is to submit the actual prequalification forms before 25 August.
Costs two Fehmarn connections
The Dubai Executive Council approved the project in June this year. In this connection, it was announced that the project would require an investment of around 80 billion AED, corresponding to 21 billion Euros – or in round numbers, well and truly two Fehmarn connections. But the project is also expected to meet the needs of Dubai’s population for the next 100 years, writes Tunnels and Tunnelling.
