The cyberattack on tunnel contractor FLC has affected work on the Fehmarn project, but preparations for the next immersion are under way again.

The focus is now on the first special element, which is to be moved from the factory in Rødbyhavn and lowered onto the seabed of the Fehmarn Belt.

- Preparations for the immersion of the first special element resumed last week, Andrew Crone-Langkjær, press officer at Sund & Bælt, tells FemernBusiness.

The immersion vessel IVY has now been assembled into a single vessel. FLC is still carrying out some minor work before preparations can move on to lifting the special element free.

- As with the first standard element, immersing the first special element places significant demands on the equipment and requires thorough preparation, says Andrew Crone-Langkjær.

The next step is to fill the basin with water. IVY will then take hold of the special element and lift it so it can be sailed out and immersed.

Sund & Bælt has not said when this will take place. Due to the ongoing investigation, the company also declines to comment on the cyberattack.
