Unemployment is lower in Lolland-Falster and Vordingborg Municipality than in the country as a whole.
This is shown by Statistics Denmark's figures for August 2026. Lolland in particular stands out, with an unemployment rate of 2.0 per cent compared with 3.1 per cent nationally.
Lolland's unemployment rate is therefore well over a third below the national average. The municipality shares 14th place when the country's 98 municipalities are ranked with the lowest unemployment rate first. No other municipality in Region Zealand has a lower unemployment rate in the figures.
Guldborgsund and Vordingborg are closer to the national average, but both remain on the lower side. In Guldborgsund, the unemployment rate is 2.6 per cent, while in Vordingborg it is 2.7 per cent. This places them 0.5 and 0.4 percentage points respectively below the country as a whole.
In the list of the country's municipalities, the rankings are as follows:
Lolland: Joint 14th place with 2.0 per cent.
Guldborgsund: Joint 46th place with 2.6 per cent.
Vordingborg: Joint 53rd place with 2.7 per cent.
The rankings are shared because several municipalities have the same unemployment rate. The figures show registered unemployed people, including job-ready unemployed people in activation programmes, converted into full-time equivalents and measured against the labour force.
All figures apply to August and are not adjusted for seasonal variations, so seasonal work, among other factors, may affect the level.
