The cyberattack on FLC, the main contractor on the Fehmarn construction project, affected systems containing personal data.
The contractor has confirmed this to Folketidende.
An internal notice also shows that a range of sensitive employee information may potentially have been affected.
- We confirm that systems containing personal data were affected by the cyber incident, FLC writes to the newspaper.
Folketidende has obtained the internal notice. It states that information including salary and tax details, bank information, identity documents and health information may potentially have been affected. The same applies to employment information and data from access control systems.
According to Folketidende’s information, employees remain concerned about the extent of a possible data leak. FLC tells the newspaper that potentially affected employees have been informed. They have also been given access to a legal hotline.
According to FLC, the attack took place on 11 October. The contractor says the affected servers were subsequently isolated and external cybersecurity experts were brought in.
The investigation is still ongoing, and FLC’s confirmation does not specify which personal data, if any, may have been stolen.
