One of the region’s most important employers has appointed a new CEO. According to the Danish Business Authority (CVR registry), Nordic Sugar has named Jannik Robin Olejas as its new managing director.
He succeeds CFO Allan Ries Kjærgaard and Sales and Marketing Director Niels Vad Sørensen, who have jointly held the position since March 1.
Jesper Thomassen retired last year after 26 years with the company, and it now appears that Nordic Sugar has settled on a more permanent solution.
From 2020 to 2024, Jannik Olejas served as CEO of Mackay Sugar in Australia, which is partly owned by Nordzucker, the parent company of Nordic Sugar. He began his career in 1992 at Danisco Sugar and continued at Nordzucker after the 2009 merger, holding leadership roles in sales, marketing, and agriculture.
Last year, he stepped down as CEO of Mackay Sugar to return to Europe.
In its most recent financial year, Nordic Sugar reported a turnover of 3.5 billion DKK.
