Torben Larsen, director of Give Steel, which supplies steel structures for the Fehmarntunnel project, has been recognized with the title of Hero of the Year in Region Midt- and West Jutland. This honor was awarded by PwC in Herning’s regional selection of Owner Leader of the Year on 31 October, PwC writes in a press release.
In the field of the 160 nominated owner-managers, chosen from among the country’s 10,000 owner-managed companies, Larsen distinguished himself by receiving an award that goes beyond direct business success. The award recognizes individual effort and social commitment beyond the ordinary.
Socially committed
PwC Denmark motivates the choice of Larsen with his commitment to integrating young people with social challenges into the workforce. Give Steel, under Larsen’s management, offers employment to young people who have been drug addicts, are currently serving time, or who find themselves in a difficult social situation. Larsen’s efforts are highlighted as a contribution to young people’s lives and opportunities on the labor market.
“Torben Larsen is not only a successful owner-manager, but also a warm and present person who takes extensive social responsibility,” writes PwC in its justification for awarding the honor to Torben Larsen.
