Femern A/S has had an FPV drone video (First Person View) made from the tunnel factory in Rødbyhavn. In the video, you get very close to – and inside – the element factory. Here you can see, among other things, the concrete mixing plant, assembly hall, molds and drying hall. All in roughly the same perspective as a bird would see it.
Camera in the nose The FPV drone has a camera in the nose that sends the image directly to the drone operator’s screen or 3D glasses. That technology makes it possible to get really close, so that all the details come through.
This is the first time that Femern A/S has tried this exact method, but not necessarily the last, says press manager Jens Villemoes from Femern A/S:
– We feel daily a huge demand for information about the project from the visitors to our exhibition centers in Denmark and Germany and on social media. We are of course happy and proud of that, and we are constantly trying to come up with new ways to tell about the project, he says and continues:
Feels like being on site
The advantages of FPV drones are that we get very close to the construction and get some much more vivid images than the ordinary shots from a bird’s eye view. In the hands of a skilled drone pilot, you get a video where it almost feels as if you are standing on the construction site yourself, and that is exactly the experience we want to give our followers. This FPV video is a bit of an experiment for us, but if it is well received, it is definitely something we will produce more of in the future, says Jens Villemoes.
Webcams are down The new drone video comes at a very fortunate time. Another of the really big online sellers at the communication department of Femern A/S is temporarily out of business. These are the webcams that livestream images from the construction site, which are currently taking an update break:
– Unfortunately, our webcams are currently down due to software migration. Our experts are working on the case. The cameras are immensely popular. In any case, people write to us as soon as there are gaps in the streaming, as there are at the moment, states Femern A/S.
