After a year of red figures, DLF Beet Seed ApS has significantly turned the development around. The accounts for 2024/25 show a profit of 55.5 million DKK, after the company recorded a loss of 22.9 million DKK the previous year. This represents a financial leap of a good 78 million DKK.

Revenue has simultaneously increased to 594.8 million DKK, compared to 566.8 million DKK the previous year. The combination of higher income and improved earnings means that the operating result now ends at 70.5 million DKK, where operations the previous year resulted in a loss. The profit margin has thus turned from negative to 11.9%.

Huge group subsidy

The management particularly points to changes in ownership and group structure as a significant explanation. During the financial year, the former main shareholder, DLF Seeds A/S, entered into a joint venture with the French Groupe Florimond Desprez regarding sugar beet seeds. In this context, DLF Beet Seed was contributed to the new jointly owned company United Beet Seed BV, which triggered a tax-free group subsidy of 160.5 million DKK. The amount was added to equity and therefore does not affect the year's result.

The group subsidy and the year's profit together have given a significant boost to equity, which at the end of the financial year amounted to 388.2 million DKK, compared to 172.1 million DKK the previous year.

Liquidity has also improved. The cash balance grew to 132.3 million DKK, compared to 115.7 million DKK the previous year.

The management describes the development as satisfactory and expects a turnover in the coming financial year at the level of 2024/25, as well as a result that will exceed that of the just concluded year.
