On 1 March, the Nordic Sugar factory in Nykøbing will have a new director. Rúni Ditlev Egholm will take up the position, thus returning to a factory and a region he knows well.
For the past three years, he has led Nordzucker's sugar factory in Uelzen, Germany, and before that, he held senior roles in the group focusing on improving operations, efficiency, and development projects across production in both Denmark and Germany.
His career in the sugar industry began in Nykøbing, where he worked as a process engineer and project manager, and for several years he was also responsible for the laboratory at the Nykøbing factory. Later, he moved to Nakskov, first as production manager and then as factory manager with overall responsibility for operations, work environment, quality, environment, budgets, and employee development.
Replaces Jesper Jeppesen
In 2019, he took a detour away from sugar production as managing director at Scangrading ApS, but then returned to the Nordzucker group.
Educationally, he is a civil engineer in chemical engineering from DTU and holds a PhD in chemical engineering. In addition, he has an HD in accounting and financial management from the University of Southern Denmark.
Rúni Ditlev Egholm replaces Jesper Jeppesen, who resigned in December after nearly 27 years at Nordic Sugar, including the last 12 years as factory director in Nykøbing.
