FLC’s element factory in Rødbyhavn hit a milestone on Tuesday morning. The last main column from Give Steel’s factory in Brande arrived at Femern’s construction site in Rødbyhavn. The column is the last of 53 main columns for the three factory halls and is part of a delivery of over 10,000 tonnes of load-bearing steel construction for the project. The last delivery from Give Steel will arrive at the Fehmarn project in February 2023.
Have to carry cranes
The column is the load-bearing steel structure in the rebar area, which must support the main and crane girders.
The crane girders will carry four 10-tonne overhead cranes and three eight-tonne overhead cranes respectively.
The main column weighs a total of 21 tonnes, is 27.4 meters high and has a massive steel base plate that is eight centimetres thick.
Danish flag on the pillar
In Give Steel’s production in Brande, the anniversary was marked by painting a small Danish flag on the pillar. The 27-meter-high steel column left Give Steel’s cadastre in Brande on Monday afternoon, arrived in Rødbyhavn on Tuesday morning, and was installed on the construction site on Tuesday morning.
Three production halls with facade solutions
A total of three factory halls with a total of 76,800 m2 will be built on the construction site in Rødbyhavn. In addition to the load-bearing steel construction of 10,000 tons of steel construction, Give Steel closes 135,000 m2 with facade solution incl. roof. – A roof and facade solution so large that, in the wake of the Fehmarn project, Give Steel has established its own facade department for both planning and execution of roof and facade constructions.
