The market for temporary accommodation and office space in connection with the Fehmarn project is huge. Inside the construction site itself, the first over 600 of the expected more than 1,300 residents have moved into the FLC village, which is being built by Adapteo. The same company is also in full swing with the construction of a further 500 temporary modular homes on a building site next to the Lalandia holiday centre.
Bets on Spanish connections
When Elecnor and SICE-Cobra, respectively, start work on the transformer station and technical innards for the tunnel itself, Ela Container is betting that the travelling employees from Spain will live in their modular construction:
– We got started a little late in relation to the Fehmarn project, but we already have a good knowledge of SICE-Cobra and Elecnor from other international projects, and we could also benefit from that here, says Anna Sofie de Neergaard, account manager at Ela Container in Denmark.
Lucky timing
Ela Container supplies modular construction for both housing and offices. Therefore, it seems that they have been lucky with the timing. Adapteo has just announced that their office hotel in Rødbyhavn will be closed and vacated by the end of April.
If Ela Container is to assert itself as an office hotel, it requires, however, that they can find a vacant building site that is suitable for the purpose.
FB Suppliers create networks
The office modules, Ela Container itself lives in Rødbyhavn, are set up in the square in front of FB-Suppliers in Rødbyhavn, and it is probably not a coincidence:
– It is very much about being present down here. It has helped a lot to get into FB suppliers and network. It’s all very locally based down here, says Anne Sofie de Neergaard.
Lego for adults
Ela Container itself describes its modular construction as “Lego for adults”, as you can assemble and arrange the modules yourself as you wish. It could be, for example, that you want a whole page with glass or the like. They promise that they can deliver a ready-to-move-in office or residential module within 48 hours – if you otherwise have a place to set it up:
– We have 60,000 containers in stock, and we can find a solution, concludes the account manager.
