The Aalborg-based company Boxit Container A/S supplies storage containers for the Fehmarn project.
The company leases and sells 10, 20, and 40-foot containers to subcontractors to the consortia.
Boxit has been active on the Fehmarn project for almost two years and is part of the business network FB Suppliers, where account manager Palle Larsen is Boxit’s representative.
– It is very beneficial to be part of the business network FB Suppliers. When a need arises, we are contacted, says Palle Larsen.
He does not want to state how many containers Boxit has delivered to the Fehmarn project but does not describe Boxit as a major supplier.
Scatters rings in the water
However, it makes sense for Boxit to be part of the Fehmarn project.
– It is always interesting to come in and participate in a project of that size. The way we work in relation to our rental portfolio is based on the fact that we work ad hoc, so it’s something to spread some rings in the water and make some good contacts so that people think of us when they need storage solutions, says Palle Larsen.
Build up extra stocks
He foresees good opportunities for growth in the industry for the rental of container solutions in the coming years.
– The trends we see are growth concerning temporary storage solutions. Our deliveries are spread across widely different segments. We also deliver for catering and events, and we see growth within, among other things, production, where extra stocks are built up, and that is where we come into the picture, says Palle Larsen.
– Containers are always needed. It’s just a matter of whether they choose to use their own or want to rent one. We hope to come into play with the subcontractors on the Fehmarn project, and that is what we are working on through the business network, Palle Larsen continues.
Frequently visits customers
So far, Boxit has chosen not to have a local presence in Rødbyhavn.
– We have not assessed that it would make sense for us to have a fixed location in Rødbyhavn with the deliveries we have, says Palle Larsen.
Boxit, therefore, handles the Femern deliveries from the head office in Aalborg.
– But we are present in Rødbyhavn in connection with network meetings and when we visit customers down there once in a while, says Palle Larsen.
In Rødbyhavn, it is typically long-term rental of the containers, i.e., over 12 months, that the subcontractors choose.
Boxit supplies standard containers, insulated containers, and containers with light and offers special solutions and constructions as required.
