The energy company Andel confirms that the work on the four solar parks, which are being built in collaboration with Better Energy, continues despite Better Energy's financial challenges. Andel is now working to find the best ownership model so that the projects can be completed as planned.
- Andel's focus is unchanged: We want to find the best ownership model for the four solar parks that Andel has in partnership with Better Energy and which are under construction. We are working with different solution models, and our main focus is to find the best possible model as quickly as possible so that we can continue the construction of the parks and start the production of more renewable energy, says Mogens Hagelskær, head of renewable energy at Andel.
The four solar parks, in which Andel and Better Energy have jointly invested, are being built in the municipalities of Sorø, Vordingborg, Guldborgsund, and Næstved.
Huge Energy Park
The energy park in Guldborgsund Municipality is the largest of the four energy parks being established. It is located at Radsted and Grænge, where Better Energy already received permission from the municipality in 2021 to establish solar parks. When the energy park is operational, it will have an expected annual electricity production of 349 GWh, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 218,000 Danes.
In recent weeks, Better Energy has undergone a major restructuring, where two subsidiaries have filed for bankruptcy, while the parent company continues in reconstruction. As part of the process, a new operating company, Better Energy Management A/S, has been established to handle construction activities and the operation of existing solar parks.
