From the outside, the building on Gl. Badevej 2A in Rødbyhavn does not seem like much. The square in front of FB Suppliers is mostly dominated by the parked yellow buses and the blue containers that rumble across the square from time to time – i.e. the containers.
FB Suppliers is located on the first floor, where the red carpet from one of the member companies leads into the meeting rooms, kitchenette and office facilities. Here the work is intense, coffee is drunk, meetings held, networking and sparring are held, when every Thursday you are invited to the “Open office” for the members of the network.
A direct point of contact
Since its inception in 2011, FB Suppliers has grown explosively to no fewer than 152 members. Here are the contract manager, Henriette Fjord Klement, and office assistant Rikke Thomsen, the direct point of contact between companies, consortia and the many members who hope to get a piece of the cake in the business adventure that will characterize Lolland for many years to come. In addition to that, the unique couple organizes network meetings, company visits, social events and helps the individual company to make new contacts and new opportunities.
As one of the 152 member companies, we at Global Tunneling Experts became part of FB Suppliers in April 2020, and from day one we as a company have felt like part of something bigger – at the same time that we have been introduced to the many opportunities , which Lolland and Falster contain. For FB Suppliers not only aims to support the Fehmarn project, but also to be an active player in the many other large construction projects that are in the pipeline for the entire southern area and the rest of Denmark.
Together we become stronger
The network on the first floor is the lifeblood of FB Suppliers, and here we help each other, celebrate each other’s successes and listen to possible frustrations. Gone are the pointed elbows and a draining competitive mentality. It has been replaced by respectful helpfulness and a desire to lift each other up, because together we become stronger. The good contacts in the network help for greater visibility, and there is always “someone” who knows “someone”. This provides – also for us in GTE – new tasks, new customers and new opportunities, so “what’s not to like”?
If you and your company are in doubt as to whether it “pays off” to be part of FB Suppliers, then I can only say that it doesn’t “pay off” not to!
