A new, double-track railway with catenary is to be built between Lübeck and Puttgarden in Schleswig-Holstein. Absolutely crucial for that project is the railway across Fehmarn. The work is planned to start during 2023. The tender documents are expected to be published during the second quarter of this year. Deutsche Bahn is the client of the project, and DB Netz is holding a digital supplier day about the project on Friday 24 March.
Germany is behind
The project managers from DB Netz will provide a status on the rail link across the Fehmarn on the suppliers’ day. The part of the corridor from Stockholm/Oslo to Hamburg that runs through Germany has so far lagged behind the rest of the project, but now it should be good enough. During the autumn of 2023, planning approval for the project from the German authorities is expected.
Pre-qualification and supplier-portal
On supplier day, DB Netz will publish the requirements to be pre-qualified for the actual tender, and those interested can get an introduction to DB’s supplier portal.
Initially, the focus will be on the construction preparatory work – that is, preparing construction sites and access roads. There will be two tenders. One in the Großenbrode area and the other around Lensahn.
DB Netz holds the supplier day as an online event, and you can join here from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
