While we wait for Fehmarn assignments

Although plenty is being built on land and digging is underway both on land and at sea, the construction of the Fehmarn tunnel itself has not started yet.

This also means that many suppliers must arm themselves with patience until the process progresses and new tasks are added.

Norisol A/S supplies all types of scaffolding and access solutions with a strong focus on safety. In addition, Norisol A/S offers technical insulation in heat, cold, noise, and fire. It can be insulation of all kinds of pipe installations, cold rooms, ventilation or cooling systems, ships, and tank systems.

Holds on
– We have not been that active on the Fehmarn project yet. But we try to be available if some tasks arise, says Anders Johansson, project manager at Norisol.

Norisol, headquartered in Glostrup, is part of the supplier network at FB Suppliers, where the company has office space.

Anders Johansson is there every Thursday to get a feel for the project. But so far, Norisol has had to be patient and only delivered a single scaffolding. However, expectations for future tasks are high.

Wants new base
– We are betting that there will be some tasks, especially scaffolding tasks. Perhaps casting scaffolding for concrete elements at the concrete factory or scaffolding for assembly of various extractions and electrical work inside the tunnel pipes. We would like to have 10-16 men in Rødbyhavn, says Anders Johansson.

Norisol has branches in Skælskør, Kalundborg, Fredericia, Frederikshavn, Munkebo and Esbjerg. East of the Great Belt, Norisol has around 200 hourly paid scaffolding workers attached.

Prestige in the Fehmarn project
– There is prestige in being part of the Fehmarn project. At the same time, it can give us a base to spread out a little on Lolland, where I was raised coincidentally. If we get a small task requiring two men a day, then we can’t compete with local companies in Lolland if we have to drive from Copenhagen down here. But we can do that if we already have a place down here from which we can send two men out instead, explains Anders Johansson.

Presence in the area
He believes that in the long run, Norisol will have a more permanent presence in the area.

– That is what we are fighting for. It requires a scaffolding site in Rødbyhavn so that the employees can meet there and have the scaffolding so that they do not have to pick it up far away, says Anders Johansson.

Norisol can also solve complex projects with noise and acoustics so that the working environment is improved and the Norwegian Working Environment Authority’s requirements for reverberation time and noise level are complied with.
