No new timetable for the future of the Fehmarn factory

Production at the Fehmarn factory in Rødbyhavn is now expected to continue until the end of 2029.

This is stated in a ministerial response, in which Sund & Bælt says that the point at which the state will have access to the facilities depends on the overall timetable for the Fehmarn project. The same applies to the possibility of using parts of the factory site for other purposes.

- We do not have an updated timetable for when individual parts of the production facilities may potentially be released for other uses, Sund & Bælt says in a written response to FemernBusiness.

Production is continuously adjusted to the overall progress of the tunnel project, while Sund & Bælt says there is still interest in what could happen to the site afterwards.

- We remain in dialogue with interested parties about the future possibilities for the site, but no binding agreements have been concluded. It is therefore too early to say anything more specific about either the timing or the potential uses.

Both the timing and the future use of the factory and the wider site in Rødbyhavn therefore remain open.
