Fifteen large Danish and international companies were in talks with Lolland Municipality about the planned industrial park near Rødbyhavn.
This is stated in the municipality’s own application to have the area designated as a state industrial park. The application was submitted to the Danish Business Authority in May 2025 and has now been released to FemernBusiness following a freedom of information request.
- Targeted market dialogue has been conducted with 15 large Danish and international companies across critical infrastructure, green energy, defence, logistics and maritime services, the application states.
Several companies had also approached the municipality themselves with a view to establishing operations or reserving land. The municipality therefore assessed that there was both a genuine need and concrete demand.
According to the application, the first companies were already planning and establishing activities on the 180-hectare site behind the tunnel element factory.
Several sectors in play
The municipality described, among other things, strong interest from the offshore wind industry, which could use the area for the production of nacelles, towers, foundations and blades. The application also referred to specific interest from the maritime defence industry.
The documents do not identify the companies with which the municipality was in talks. Nor do they state whether any agreements were concluded, land was reserved or an expected number of jobs was linked to the companies’ interest.
The application does not show how many of the discussions are still active.
