When European charging operator Milence recently bought an undeveloped site at Rigavej 12 in Nørre Alslev from Guldborgsund Municipality, the land registry did not state what the site would be used for.
That is now clear.
- The site is intended for service facilities for road freight traffic, specifically electric charging points, says Christian Smith, Head of Business and Development at Guldborgsund Municipality.
According to the municipality, talks with Milence, which was established by Daimler Truck, TRATON Group and Volvo Group, have been under way since the end of 2024. In connection with the sale, the municipality also received a preliminary drawing of the project.
Milence is not yet providing further details about the project in Nørre Alslev. However, the company tells FemernBusiness that it is assessing several locations in Denmark and that grid connection and the necessary building permits, among other things, must be secured before individual projects can move forward.
The Nørre Alslev project has already required changes to the municipal planning framework. According to Christian Smith, the purchase was conditional, among other things, on a new local development plan because the previous plan did not allow the intended use on the part of Business Park Falster acquired by Milence.
The site is located near exit 43 with direct access to the E47/E55 motorway.
- Service facilities for heavy goods traffic are naturally important along major transport corridors, and with a location close to the E47/E55, it makes good sense to establish an electric charging facility to support the green transition in freight transport, says Christian Smith.
Earlier this year, Milence opened its first Danish charging hub near Padborg, close to the German border.
