Dutch charging operator Milence plans to establish a charging facility for electric trucks in Business Park Falster near Nørre Alslev.
As part of the project, the company entered into an agreement with Guldborgsund Municipality to buy a site in the business park. Before the transaction could be completed, however, Milence needed clarification on whether the site could be connected to the electricity grid with sufficient capacity and at a reasonable cost for the planned charging facility.
Milence, which was established by Daimler Truck, TRATON Group and Volvo Group, applied for the grid connection through Cerius-Radius, while the dialogue on the case was handled by Nexel, which works on behalf of both grid companies.
Documents obtained through a freedom of information request show that as early as June 2025, Milence asked Guldborgsund Municipality, through its lawyer, to extend the deadline for the land transaction. The reason was that, despite contacting the relevant grid operator, Milence had still not received clarification on the grid connection. By November, the pressure was becoming clear.
- My managers are very concerned about whether we will be able to finalise the agreement in time. Can you tell us how far we have got? Łukasz Niedzielski of Milence wrote to Cerius-Radius and Nexel.
Three days later, he followed up again.
- Unfortunately, we only have one week left. Can you let me know whether the agreement can be finalised within a week?
The documents also reveal the scale of the planned project. Milence applied for a grid connection for a facility with four truck charging points and a total power requirement of around 4-4.2 MW.
Milence subsequently asked Guldborgsund Municipality for another extension. The municipality granted a deadline until the end of November, but made clear that it would not be extended again.
On 28 November, Milence informed the municipality that it had received the necessary information and wished to proceed with the purchase. A conditional deed for the site was subsequently registered with Milence as the buyer on 27 August 2026.
