Billions are being invested in the Fehmarn link.
In Sund & Bælt’s half-year report, Femern A/S reports investments in tangible fixed assets of DKK 6.08 billion during the first six months of the year.
At the same time, the company’s net interest-bearing debt increased from DKK 36.2 billion at the turn of the year to DKK 42.4 billion at the end of June. In addition, Femern Landanlæg invested DKK 256 million and had debt of DKK 7 billion.
The Fehmarn project therefore accounted for by far the largest share of the Sund & Bælt Group’s total investments of just under DKK 7 billion in the first half of the year.
At the factory in Rødbyhavn, 16 standard elements and three special elements had been produced when the half-year report was published. Three of the tunnel’s total 89 elements have now been immersed in the Fehmarn Belt. The fourth is expected to be immersed within a few weeks.
Sund & Bælt maintains that the total debt associated with the Fehmarn link can be repaid within the assumptions set out in the Construction Act. The repayment period, however, will only be calculated from the date the link opens.
