AJ Consult, the engineering consultancy based in Nykøbing Falster, is being sold to Thranekær Rådgivende Ingeniører.
The private equity-backed group thereby gains its first solid foothold in Lolland-Falster and South Zealand, while AJ Consult becomes part of a nationwide organisation with around 330 employees.
- From our perspective, it is about gaining access to a broader range of disciplines and expertise when we bid for projects, says Kim Jensen, Managing Director of AJ Consult.
Thranekær has acquired the entire company, and the parties will not disclose the purchase price. Kim Jensen and Dennis Stentebjerg-Czuba will, however, continue as partners in the new organisation.
AJ Consult has 18 engineers and technical employees and advises on areas including structural engineering, fire safety, energy and technical installations. For the time being, the company will continue with the same employees and under its existing name.
- We are keeping the name because that is what people know, and it has a strong position in this area. At the same time, we will make it clear that we are now part of a larger group, says Kim Jensen.
In the longer term, however, AJ Consult may change its name to Thranekær.
Thranekær was launched in the summer of 2025 by former Norconsult director Thomas Bolding Rasmussen together with private equity firm CataCap. Since then, the group has grown through acquisitions including UCON, Dominia and Ingeniørgruppen.
Through its investment company, CataCap controls the majority of Thranekær’s holding company.
