Self-service has become just a little more self-service at the construction site in Rødbyhavn. The workers in FLC Village have been given local shopping opportunities. And that’s without a cashier behind the counter. The new grocery store is both unmanned and self-service. The new Let-Køb (meaning Easy-buy, ed.) convenience store will make daily shopping easier for the staff on the construction site inside the fence in the Village.
Let-Køb store in Kramnitse
– The philosophy behind it was to make it easier for our employees, says Jens Thornager, Village Manager at FLC.
The opening took place on the initiative of Janne Hansen, who owns the local Let-Køb store in Kramnitse, a few kilometres west of the construction site. The systems have been tested in recent weeks, and more customers have been allowed to use the store.
Now we must look forward
– I started by moving to Kramnitse to be closer to the Fehmarn project because I wanted to be involved. It has been a long process, but now it is here, and now we just have to look forward, says Janne Hansen.
Four unmanned test stores
The unmanned store is one of four test stores at Dagrofa under the Let-Køb chain, and the concept was developed by Retail360. As a customer, you lock yourself into the store by scanning a QR code at the entrance and registering with your NemID or MitID. The customer then buys his goods and pays with a credit card or mobile phone before leaving the store.
The other three stores are located in Frederiksberg, Demstrup, and Fåborg.
Maybe more on the way
If the test stores do well, the ambition is for Dagrofa and Retail360 to work towards opening more unmanned Let-Køb stores around the country.
