In a new 2030 plan, the trade union 3F proposes that foreign and Danish companies pay a contribution, which must go to the trade unions’ control.

Danish and foreign companies on projects such as the Fehmarn construction must help pay for the checks carried out by the authorities and trade unions, 3F believes. At their latest congress, the trade union gave their take on a 2030 plan for Denmark.

Must contribute to proper conditions
– When such large projects invite foreign companies to help solve the tasks, it is important that we also find ways for them to contribute to what we call proper conditions. Henning Overgaard, federal chairman of the trade union 3F, said this during his visit to the Trade Unions House by the tunnel village.

Risk groups
– We have launched a proposal for a contribution model where Danish and foreign companies that work within what the politicians themselves have identified as risk groups pay a minor tax. It can help finance the official control that must occur with such projects and the work that employers’ associations and trade unions do in connection with an organized labour market, explains Henning Overgaard.

2 cent per hour
The trade union 3F proposes introducing an employer contribution of 2 cents per performed working hour, giving over 13 million euros per year within 3F’s risk industry areas. Of the annual amount, an amount is determined for administrative costs, which are distributed between the state and the respective federations.

The state must collect
The contribution is to be collected by the state and transferred to the most representative trade unions that have entered into nationwide collective agreements in the sector. The employer contribution must be adopted by law and include all employers within the risk industries – also unorganized employers, 3F writes in their proposal.
