For the first time since 2020, Danish Industry is making changes to its leadership team. 46-year-old Emil Fannikke Kiær, who has been the political director at DI for almost four years, will become the new business and membership director. At the same time, the position of political director will be taken over by the current director of communications and public affairs, 49-year-old Morten Høyer. This was announced by Danish Industry in a press release.

– Denmark and the Danish business sector must face new serious challenges as well as new opportunities. Therefore, it is more important than ever that DI’s leadership not only consists of the sharpest team but also that the executive members have the most up-to-date roles, says CEO Lars Sandahl Sørensen.

Closer to the business community
As the new business and membership director, Emil Fannikke Kiær will be responsible for DI’s 11 industry communities, 27 regions and regional associations, and 104 member associations. Additionally, he will oversee DI’s industry development and acquisition.

– Danish companies are strong, but to further enhance and expand our common strength positions during historically uncertain times, DI needs to get even closer to the business community, and the business community must likewise get closer to DI, says Emil Fannikke Kiær.

Significant political responsibility
As the new political director, Morten Høyer will have overall executive responsibility for Danish Industry’s political line and policy development, including responsibility for the cross-sectional political units, analyses, and socio-economic models and plans.

– With DI’s position as Denmark’s largest business organization comes a significant political responsibility for both the business community and society. This responsibility essentially involves future-proofing the profit engine beneath our entire welfare society and enhancing the cooperation between decision-makers and the world-class business community, which, among other things, facilitates a real green transition in the practical world, says Morten Høyer.

Assuming roles immediately
Morten Høyer and Emil Fannikke Kiær will assume their new responsibilities today, April 15, 2024. DI expects to be able to announce a new public affairs and communications director within a few days.

Emil Fannikke Kiær replaces Anders Søndergaard Larsen, who has chosen to resign from his position as membership director at his own request to take on a new future role at DI.
