Femern A/S was yesterday reported to the Southeast Jutland police for fraud. This is written by DOI.dk.
The police report is the latest development in a heated and protracted case about an agreement on guard ship patrolling in connection with the Fehmarn project, which was canceled because the start-up of the Fehmarn project was delayed several years. Shipowner Jørgen Holm Christensen was then awarded compensation from Femern A/S of six million kroner in 2012.
Claims oral agreement
The shipowner claims, however, that he simultaneously entered into an oral agreement with Femern A/S that he would be awarded the contract when the construction at some point started. Femern A/S has previously denied that such an oral agreement exists.
The shipowner, who has gone bankrupt along the way, believes for his part that he owes DKK 40 million to Femern A/S, and this has now led him to take the drastic step of reporting the state-owned building company to the police for fraud:
– It is fraud when you enter into an agreement and do not comply with it. A deal is a deal. I still hope I get the job that was promised, then I will stop, says Jørgen Holm Christensen to DOI.dk.
According to DOI.dk, Femern A/S’ managing director, Henrik Vincentsen, has refused to comment on the case.
