The wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has generated revenue of just over 5.3 billion euros in the third quarter of the year, equivalent to nearly 40 billion kroner.
This is three percent more than the same period the previous year and is due to increased delivery.
This is shown in the company's financial report, which was published on Wednesday morning.
In the quarter, Vestas earned 304 million euros after tax, equivalent to nearly 2.3 billion kroner.
- The results are driven by higher deliveries and continued improvement in the execution of onshore wind projects, says CEO Henrik Andersen in a comment on the financial report.
At the same time, the company narrows its expectations for sales for the entire financial year. Vestas now expects revenue between 18.5 and 19.5 billion euros, compared to the previously expected range of 18 to 20 billion euros.
Focus on offshore wind
In the quarter, Vestas increased its order intake by four percent. This is mainly driven by increased orders for onshore wind turbines, where order intake has risen by 60 percent.
Vestas' financial report shows that in the third quarter, the company increased deliveries of offshore wind turbines to 544 megawatts, an increase from 378 megawatts the previous year, with growth mainly coming from projects in Poland and Germany.
The large offshore wind turbines for these markets are equipped with blades produced at Vestas' factory in Nakskov, where 115-metre-long blades are manufactured for the new V236-15.0 MW turbine. The factory on Lolland thus plays a central role in the part of Vestas' production that drives offshore growth in the third quarter of the year.
