It is one of the region's largest companies and workplaces that could be celebrated on Thursday evening as the recipient of the Lolland-Falster Business Award 2025.

This took place at a very well-attended award ceremony event at Nykøbing F. Theatre, where the business community followed the close competition between the six nominated companies - DanuCare ApS, H+ A/S, K.J. Elektro A/S, Gammelgaard Gods v/Peter Friderichsen, Vestas Wind Systems A/S and Ortofon A/S.

All six nominees have been presented in Folketidende's media in recent weeks - and on Thursday evening, the packed theatre once again watched the six films about the selected companies.

The business award 2025

Six companies were nominated for the business award 2025:

  • DanuCare ApS
  • H+ A/S
  • K.J. Elektro A/S
  • Gammelgaard Gods v/Peter Friderichsen
  • Vestas Wind Systems A/S
  • Ortofon A/S

And then the suspense could not be prolonged any further.

Significant growth

From the stage, Ingolf Stenstrup Larsen, area director for business at Nordea on Lolland-Falster, on behalf of the judging committee, announced the winner of the Lolland-Falster Business Award 2025 - Vestas in Nakskov.

In the justification, he highlighted, among other things, that Vestas has experienced significant growth, doubled its workforce to around 1,300 employees, and created a strong production culture where safety, quality, and collaboration are in focus.

- Vestas contributes to the green industry of the future - benefiting both the business community and the local community. Vestas is a role model for how global green transition and local development can go hand in hand, said Ingolf Stenstrup Larsen at the award ceremony.

1,300 employees

The business award was presented by Mayor Holger Schou Rasmussen, Lolland Municipality, Mayor Simon Hansen, Guldborgsund Municipality, and Ingolf Stenstrup Larsen.

At Nakskov Harbour, Vestas produces some of the world's largest wind turbine blades, which are 115 metres long, and the company has experienced remarkable progress in recent years.

The factory employs 1,300 people and, through its close cooperation with local authorities, the harbour, and the business community, has helped strengthen Lolland-Falster's position as a centre for green technology and industry.

- Thank you very much for the award. We are both proud and grateful. We are growing and proud to contribute to the green transition. We are expanding in Lolland-Falster, and it means a lot to us. Every day we work hard to ensure our contribution is sustainable. Thanks also to the employees and managers who have chosen Vestas. Thank you for the award and for the cooperation, so Vestas can continue to create growth in Lolland, said health and safety manager Mia Bentley and HR partner Dennis Bishoff Bak, who both represented Vestas at the award reception.
