- It's really sad. It has been my whole life, and I have struggled with it for a number of years, but we had exhausted all possibilities, so we filed for bankruptcy last night.
That's what Mia Jørgensen, the director of the construction company Troels Jørgensen A/S in Kettinge, says.
The company is among the largest and most well-known construction companies on Lolland-Falster and has employed over 100 employees at times.
When Femernbusiness.com speaks with Mia Jørgensen on Wednesday at noon, she has not yet been to the bankruptcy court and is also waiting to meet with the trustee.
- So I can't talk much about it yet, she says.
But she says that recently there have been about fifty employees:
- We have been 60 for a while, but are probably more like 50 now, as some have been sent home because we didn't have much to do at the beginning of the year.
Among the larger ongoing construction projects are a new museum storage for Museum Lolland-Falster, the parish hall in Væggerløse, and the renovation of Christianssæde Castle. These constructions are now on hold, and the employees have been sent home.
But it must now be investigated whether the company can be reconstructed.
- I hope so. It's very early, but we have to see if someone comes forward, says Mia Jørgensen, who became director in 2013 and took over full ownership in 2017.
In connection with the bankruptcy petition, the company has changed its name to Byggeselskabet TJ af 2025 A/S.
