Who actually makes the most money in the business world in Lolland, Falster, Møn and the Vordingborg area?
The answer is surprisingly broad. Here are cookies from Stege, supercars from Præstø, pickups from Nakskov, malt for beer from Ørslev and seeds from Holeby. In other words, there are many ways to make big money in the southern part of Region Zealand.
A review of accounts submitted in 2025 shows that the top is not dominated by one particular industry, but by a mix of banks, industry, food, tourism, agriculture and specialised niche companies. At the top is Bisca in Stege with a profit of 167.7 million DKK, while both Lolland Bank and Møns Bank also rank at the very top.
The list thus paints a picture of a business community where classic local companies stand side by side with international corporations and export-oriented specialists. Some have deep roots in the region and live off the land, production or local customers. Others sell to the world market from addresses in Rødby, Præstø, Holeby, Nakskov and Vordingborg.

Bisca in Stege is one of the most prominent production companies in Vordingborg Municipality and one of the heavy profit machines in the overall statement. The company manufactures cakes, biscuits and other sweet products and is behind well-known brands such as Karen Volf, Karen’s Bakery, Snøfler, All in one and MØN. Production has been in Stege since 1968, while the company itself traces its roots back to 1890, giving the company an unusually long local and industrial history. At the same time, Bisca has both its headquarters and production on Møn, while administration, sales and marketing are located in Albertslund. This makes the company a classic and very visible food producer with a strong local anchoring, but also with a size that reaches far beyond the local area.
Lolland Bank A/S: Profit 99.0 million DKK
Lolland Bank in Nakskov is the region's most important financial player and plays a central role for both private customers and businesses in Lolland-Falster and the southern part of Zealand. The bank has a strong local profile and builds much of its identity on proximity to customers and close relationships in its market area. It is also one of the companies in the overview that most readers will know, both as a local bank and as an active partner in the regional business community. The 2024 accounts show a profit after tax of 99.0 million DKK, which places the bank at the top of the list, even though the result was lower than the previous year. This makes Lolland Bank an obvious company in the overview because it has both local weight, high visibility, and great significance for the development of the area's business community.
Møns Bank A/S: Profit 83.8 million DKK
Møns Bank is one of the most prominent financial companies in Vordingborg Municipality and has a strong historical foundation in the area. The bank has roots on Møn but has in recent years expanded its business area and opened a branch in Køge as part of its growth. At the same time, the bank is focusing specifically on business and has a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. This makes Møns Bank a central player for both local customers and the business community in a larger regional market. The bank is therefore a natural part of the top in the overview of the area's largest profits.
RWE Wind Services Denmark A/S: Profit 64.9 million DKK
RWE Wind Services Denmark A/S in Rødby is part of the German energy group RWE and works with service and maintenance in the wind industry. The company is thus an example of how Lolland is also connected to the international energy sector and not only to traditional industry and agriculture. The company is based in Rødby Harbour, from where it is part of a larger green value chain around operations and technology. This makes RWE Wind Services a somewhat different company on the list, because the profit lies in a specialised technical function within a large international group. At the same time, it shows that there is also business in the local area in companies that work around the green transition.
Zenvo Automotive A/S: Profit 63.7 million DKK
Zenvo Automotive in Præstø is Denmark's only manufacturer of supercars and thus one of the most spectacular companies on the list. In 2024, the company turned previous losses into a profit in the millions, while equity was raised from minus to plus. The progress is closely linked to the launch of the Aurora models Agil and Tur, where customers have already made large prepayments long before the cars roll into production. Zenvo builds the cars in Præstø for an international niche market, where prices are in the absolute super league. This makes the company a rare example of a small South Zealand company making money by selling hand-built hypercars to the world's wealthiest. The price? Approximately 25 million. And that's without tax.
Melitek A/S: profit 40.6 million DKK
Melitek in Nørre Alslev is a family-owned industrial company that produces plastic granules for, among other things, the medical industry. Melitek is owned and managed by the brothers Kim and Jesper Laursen and has for several years invested in both product development and expansion of production on Hartvig Jensensvej. At the same time, the company has built a solid economy and continues to focus on strengthening both capacity and competencies. This makes Melitek one of the more specialised and robust industrial companies in the area.

On Lolland, it is still possible to find large profits in companies where fields, crops, and land are the main assets.

Guldborg Skovdistrikt ApS: Profit 26.7 million DKK
Guldborg Skovdistrikt near Nysted effectively covers the management of forests and areas around Ålholm Castle. Here, it is not factories, shops, or tourist activities that drive the business, but land, forest, and the long-term management of larger values. The company thus serves as the financial framework for the estate's forestry and land management.
