A/S Motortramp, based in Stensved on South Zealand, has once again clearly taken the lead among companies in the local area. With a profit of 508 million kroner in 2024, the company delivers the largest result among all companies in the municipalities of Vordingborg, Lolland, and Guldborgsund.
In previous years, Motortramp has also been at the top - but the result is declining. In 2023, the profit was 1.031 billion kroner, and in 2022 it was as high as 1.423 billion. This makes this year's result the lowest in three years - but still far above what any other local company can achieve.
Capital and investments
Motortramp is primarily an investor. The largest item in the accounts is the 32.4 percent ownership stake in the publicly listed Dampskibsselskabet Norden, which had a profit of 1.121 billion kroner in 2024. Motortramp's ownership stake is recorded at 3 billion kroner and has a significant impact on the company's overall result.
In addition to Norden, Motortramp also owns securities and invests significant funds in the stock market. In 2024, this yielded a return of 193 million kroner. According to the accounts, the result matches the company's own expectations.
The company also owns two subsidiaries: - Skovselskabet af 13. December 2017 A/S, which invests in and manages forest areas - Green Box A/S, which produces prefabricated bathrooms
Not a Classic Company
Motortramp describes itself as an investor and employed 8-9 staff at the end of 2024.
Ownership is distributed among several individuals and funds, but is effectively concentrated: Stensbygaard Foundation and Dampskibsselskabet Orient's Fund together control over 75 percent of the capital and more than 60 percent of the votes. The company is led by Johanne Christiane Frazer Riegels. Several board members are associated with the ownership group.
On the surface, Motortramp is still a low-key player. But on paper, it is the biggest money-maker in the region.
Uncertainty and Expectation
For 2025, the company expects a result between 50 and 250 million kroner. This depends particularly on developments in shipping and financial markets. The company also mentions geopolitical tensions and macroeconomic uncertainty as significant risks.
