The network companies Cerius-Radius and their joint operating company Nexel have just completed a major consultancy tender to secure the future power grid in Zealand, Lolland-Falster, and the islands. The choice has fallen on Sweco and Rambøll, who over the next five years will provide consultancy services for the extensive task of expanding and modernizing the power grid.
Electrification is growing rapidly, and this places great demands on the infrastructure. According to Jens Fossar Madsen, CEO of Cerius-Radius, it is crucial to expand the power grid quickly and efficiently to meet the increasing demand. He looks forward to collaborating with Sweco and Rambøll, both of which have strong competencies in sustainability and quality.
- In the coming years, we face a historic expansion of the power grid, where more cables will be laid underground and many new transformer stations will be built. It is a task we must succeed in if we are to achieve the green transition, he says.
Long-term partnerships
Nexel's CEO, Anders Vikkelsø, points out that the new agreements are intended to ensure a closer and more efficient form of collaboration. Previously, the companies have used many different advisors, but now they will focus on fewer and longer-term partnerships to optimize processes and ensure better solutions.
The tender has been evaluated based on a number of factors, including competencies, proposed solutions, collaboration, price, and personnel.
The agreements entered into are for five years with the possibility of extension for up to three years. The agreements came into effect on January 17, 2025.
