On Monday, the head of the Femern Agency, Per Bech Grønning, and the labour market director from the Swedish Agency for Labor Market and Recruitment (STAR), Jakob Heltoft, signed a job service agreement. The agreement formalizes the cooperation that has already been going on for a long time between Femern Agency and STAR.

Only need to turn to one place
The job service agreement means, among other things, that Femern Agency and the consortia on Femernbyggeriet will in future only have to turn to one place when they need to recruit employees for the Femern project or employees need to be upgraded.

Femern Agency is an “advanced job centre”, which, based in Rødbyhavn, must ensure that the Femern project creates as many Danish jobs as possible. Femern Agency is established as a collaboration between the Agency for Labor Market and Recruitment (STAR), the Agency for Education and Quality (STUK) and the job centers in Lolland and Guldborgsund municipalities respectively.

Delivers within three days
With a job service agreement, Femern Agency can for the future draw on all job centers in Denmark when positions need to be filled at Denmark’s largest construction site. The service targets for the job service agreement also state that within three working days STAR can deliver either a list of specific, qualified, available candidates for a position – or come up with a plan for how the recruitment can be carried out.

The job service agreement gives access to recruit via jobnet.dk, which is Denmark’s largest job database and CV bank. The agreement also makes it possible to recruit directly from the A-kasseren’s vacant members and possibly through Work In Denmark, if the qualified employees are to be brought in abroad.

Also upskilling and training
The agreement also provides the opportunity for advice and guidance on upskilling courses and further training, just as STAR also collaborates with educational institutions.

In addition to providing jobs for the Femern project, Femern Agency can also provide internships and apprenticeships.

Around 40 per cent of the employees at Femern Byggeriet are Danish.
