Green X Energy Nakskov has entered into a partnership with Lolland Municipality and Business Lolland-Falster. The goal is to attract companies to a new business area south of Nakskov with a focus on sustainability and circular production.

The association Green X Energy Nakskov was founded in 2024 and is based in Dannemare. The initiative is led by estate owner Carl-Johan von Rosen, who also represents the association. The aim is to develop a business area and offer companies a platform for green industry, where resources are shared across actors.

The new business area

The area the association is working with covers 250 hectares south of Nakskov - close to the harbour and with access to sea transport. Here, companies in the future will be able to participate in a circular industrial environment, where by-products such as heat, water, and materials are used across and create new value chains. The goal is to reduce both waste and production costs.

“It's not just about selling land,” says Carl-Johan von Rosen. “We want to develop the area together with the companies that fit into the circular mindset.”

Anchored in local business network

Also part of the partnership is Business Lolland-Falster, which has experience in attracting companies to the region. Director Mikkel Wesselhoff sees potential in the area - especially because the demand for green solutions is increasing.

At the same time, Lolland Municipality is supportive. Mayor Holger Schou Rasmussen emphasises that green companies can be a way to create more local jobs.

“We need to strengthen growth and have more local jobs on Lolland. We do this best through close cooperation between the private and public sectors, where there is particularly great potential in new companies within green transition and circular production.”

According to the partners, the area should not be developed with standardised commercial plots. Instead, companies will have the opportunity to define their own needs and solutions in dialogue with the developers.

More interested parties - but no timeline

According to the partners, European Energy and Hveiti have already purchased land in the area, and several other companies have reserved or shown interest. However, no information has been released about the size of the sold areas, the scope of investment, or upcoming construction.

There are also no announcements about when the area will be developed, or when the first company can be established. The partnership is presented as a step in the development - but the next phase and specific timelines have not yet been announced.
