For some time, there has been pressure on the accommodation facilities in Rødbyhavn and the surrounding area. But now the foot has been eased off the accelerator for a while. Because there are rooms to be had.
Hotel Stop’n Sleep in Rødbyhavn is one of the accommodations where you can get a room right now.
– We have good occupancy, but we can meet the demand for rooms from craftsmen or others right now, says Richard Nyborg, hotel manager of Hotel Stop’n’ Sleep.
The hotel expanded last year with 38 new rooms with private baths and toilets in a modular building built by ABC Pavilloner. Hotel Stop’n Sleep now has 142 rooms.
Contractors scale down
– From 2020 until this summer, we have mainly been fully booked. However, some contractors have started to scale back a little, says Richard Nyborg.
This also applies to FBC, which has solved a large part of the task of excavating the working port.
This has resulted in a small breather on top of some very busy years. But only temporarily, as Fehmarn System Contractors will soon move in to work on the technical guts of the Fehmarn Tunnel as soon as the first tunnel elements are produced.
– I expect it to be busy again when the new consortium really gets going, says Richard Nyborg.
Half rented out
Anders Henriksen, the owner of Lidsø Gods, has a total of approximately 200 rooms, which are rented out via fehmarnaccomodation.com.
In Rødbyhavn, he has 42 rooms at Skippergården, which formerly housed an administration building and rooms for sailors, and 76 apartments with private baths and toilets in a new modular building on the site. In addition, he also has several holiday homes, houses and apartments on southern Lolland.
– In general, it’s going well. Skippergården is fully booked, and in the modular construction, approximately half is rented out right now, says Anders Henriksen.
It is mainly people who work on building the tunnel element factory who live at Skippergården, including Give Steel and their subcontractors, just as there are also people who work on the construction of Hage’s Badehotel.
Also, in Maribo, Ebsens Hotel reports that there are rooms available.
Waiting to expand
Hotel Stop’n Sleep and fehmarnaccommodation.com have the option of expanding with even more rooms, but both will hold back on expanding for the time being.
Anders Henriksen has permission to build a further 34 rooms in a new modular building. Sewers are already installed, so construction can start quickly if he presses the button. But for the time being, he waits.
– As long as it is not fully booked, we will not build more, says Anders Henriksen.
Adapteo is currently working on a large-scale project to build 500 new homes near Lalandia. This causes Hotel Stop’n Sleep to await the situation.
– We wait and see how great the need will be when accommodation options are also built elsewhere, says Richard Nyborg.
