The project, which forms the basis of the Construction Act on the Fehmarn connection, does not include direct access to and from the E47 motorway for Rødby or Holeby on Lolland. Lolland Municipality has been working for a long time to get something done about this. Now the Road Directorate has come up with a proposal for a solution to that problem.
B facility east of Rødby
The connection facility must be established as a so-called B-facility, where the ramps form a figure reminiscent of a B, north of Lundegårdsvej a little east of Rødby. When Lundegårdsvej is so decisive here, it is because it lies north of the project area that is covered by the Construction Act on the Fehmarn project. It is thus not a matter for the state, but for the municipality.
Lolland Municipality’s administration estimates that it will cost between DKK 20 – 30 million to develop Lundegårdsvej for the facility. The Climate, Technology and Environment Committee in Lolland Municipality will consider the proposal from the Road Directorate on Monday afternoon.
Funded by grants
The agenda for the committee meeting shows that the administration estimates that at least part of the money can come from grants. It is not clear which subsidies are envisaged. However, the master sheet with the Road Directorate’s proposal sent by the Ministry of Transport contains an indication that the state could be willing to talk to.
“Some inadequacies “
The master sheet from the Ministry of Transport begins with the words “There have been some inadequacies in the Fehmarn Belt project’s connection to the existing South Motorway (E47), as described in the Construction Act.” So the ministry has at least recognized potential for improvement.
Work on the access facility is still in the idea phase. Among other things, it must first be investigated whether an environmental impact assessment must be prepared for the project. Depending on that, a draft project can be ready in either half a year or a year and a half.
