Copenhagen Capacity works to attract international companies and investments to Eastern Denmark and talents to Danish business life. This task is carried out in close cooperation and coordination with companies, business houses, clusters and other actors throughout the country. Copenhagen Capacity is now expanding with a permanent employee in southern Zealand, who will, among other things, acquire more southern European skilled workers for the region. The Fehmarn project is helping with providing extra busyness.
Gets skilled workers for construction
– We are already part of the Fehmarn project, and we have two employees in the process of acquiring skilled workers for the construction, says Asbjørn Overgaard, director of Copenhagen Capacity.
From Eastern to Southern Europe
Where the sights have so far been on Eastern Europe in the search for qualified employees, the focus is increasingly directed towards Southern Europe. Italy and Spain, particularly, are interesting for job-hungry Danish companies and projects. In those countries, youth unemployment is high, and the prospect of moving north is extra attractive.
– We can offer a different lifestyle and a higher salary than they are used to, says Asbjørn Overgaard.
Must attract foreign investment
In addition to recruiting skilled workers, the Copenhagen Capacity fund’s main task is to attract foreign investment to Eastern Denmark. And Greater Copenhagen is, in that context, a very broad term. The entire Zealand Region is part of “Greater Copenhagen”, which the foundation must market.
Based in southern Zealand
Copenhagen Capacity is currently looking for an employee who, with a base in southern Zealand, will be tasked with taking international investors by the hand and helping them through the entire process that will lead to the establishment in one of Zealand’s municipalities. Therefore, they are looking for an employee with extensive knowledge of the growth environments in the region of Zealand and one who can manage to create a close and confidential collaboration with the municipalities.
Strengthened cooperation with locals
The expectation is that this will further strengthen cooperation with the local business and knowledge environments and make Copenhagen Capacity even better at attracting foreign companies to municipalities outside the capital area.
Logistics and green transition
– I am thrilled that we now have an employee in southern Zealand. It is an area that has some strong professional environments within the area of logistics and green transition, with which we look forward to collaborating with even more closely. It will be a great advantage in our important work of attracting international companies to the whole of Eastern Denmark that we are represented locally in southern Zealand, says Asbjørn Overgaard, director of Copenhagen Capacity.
