The energy group Andel is slowing down the development of the solar parks the company took over from Better Energy. This is what CEO Jesper Hjulmand says in an interview with Børsen.
- We have not decided what we will do, but we are looking at it. We are going to slow it down, he says about the three projects that Andel took over when Better Energy withdrew from the collaboration earlier this year after a reconstruction.
In the spring, Andel took over four large projects in the municipalities of Sorø, Vordingborg, Næstved, and Guldborgsund. The facility in Sorø is already completed, while the others are still awaiting a decision on realisation.
The park at Grænge on Lolland will be the largest with a planned capacity of 329 megawatts, equivalent to the electricity consumption of over 200,000 households. In Vordingborg, a facility of 187 megawatts is planned at Køng Mose, while the Næstved project at Saltø accounts for around 120 megawatts.
According to Hjulmand, the decision to slow down is part of a broader prioritisation after Andel has invested three billion kroner in Ørsted and is simultaneously experiencing a lower return on new green projects.
- The dream of a sustainable society remains, but we are slowing down our investments in new, renewable energy production, he tells the newspaper.
