The price of agricultural land has increased by nearly 10 percent this year and is now over 200,000 kroner per hectare - the highest level since the financial crisis, according to figures from Statistics Denmark.

According to agricultural brokers at Nybolig Landbrug, the development is nationwide, although there are large geographical differences. Especially land without buildings is in demand, and interest is increasing as the supply decreases.

Several point to Grøn Trepart as a contributing factor to the price pressure, as the agreement will take some agricultural land out of production. At the same time, both energy and nature projects as well as foreign investors are buying up.

Despite the high demand, some brokers expect that price increases will level off, partly because interest rates still play a significant role in farmers' finances.
